Using the app in 5 steps
- Open the app. There is nothing to sign up for. No name, email or password is needed.
- Pray for others. In the Pray Together tab, read the prayers. Tap “Pray for you” to let someone know you prayed, or send a heart.
- Write your own prayer. Write what you would like prayer for, choose a category, choose who can see it, and add a display name only if you want one. Please do not include phone numbers, emails, links or addresses; they are blocked.
- Wait for review. A person reads each new prayer before it appears, which can take up to about a day.
- Mark it answered. When a prayer is answered, you can mark it and add a short testimony. Testimonies are reviewed too.
The audio program, new every Monday and Thursday, can be played from the program tab.
Report, block and delete
- Report a prayer: use the Report option on the prayer. If two people report it, it is hidden until we review it. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours.
- Block an author: use the Block option on one of their prayers. Their prayers disappear from your view right away.
- Delete your data: Me tab, then “Delete my data”. This permanently removes your anonymous ID and everything linked to it (prayers, reactions, reports, blocks and notification registration). Routine backups may keep a copy for up to 30 days before they expire.
Notifications on or off
Notifications are optional. The app sends at most one a day, at about 8 a.m. your local time, telling you how many people prayed for you. It never includes the text of a prayer. To turn them on or off, open your iPhone’s Settings, then Notifications, then Grace and Prayer.
If you need help right now
Grace and Prayer is not emergency or professional care, and it is not a substitute for medical, mental-health, legal or financial help. Please do not wait for a reply to a prayer if you or someone near you is in danger.

Common questions
Why does my prayer say “in review”?
Every new prayer and every testimony is read by a person before it becomes public. This can take up to about a day. You do not need to send it again.
Why was my prayer rejected?
Prayers can only use letters, Chinese characters, the digits 0 to 9 and ordinary punctuation; circled or full-width numbers, emoji and special symbols have to be changed before a prayer can be sent. Prayers are rejected if they include contact details of any kind (phone, email, links, social media accounts or street addresses), advertising, fundraising or dating, or anything hateful, harassing, sexual, violent or encouraging self-harm. Please see the Terms of Use. You are welcome to write a new prayer.
Can I edit a prayer?
No. A prayer cannot be edited after you send it. If you want it gone, you can delete all your data from the Me tab. You are also welcome to write a new prayer.
Can I get my old prayers back on a new phone?
No. There is no email or password, so history cannot be moved or recovered after you delete the app or change phones.
Is it free?
Yes. There are no ads and no in-app purchases.
Is the voice in the program a real person?
No. The voice in the audio program is generated by artificial intelligence. It is not a recording of a real person.
Who can see my prayer?
Other people in the app can see it in the way you chose when you wrote it. They never see your anonymous ID, and they never see a name unless you typed one. Anonymous prayers never show a name.
